The city of twenty-three thousand people of mixed religion is situated at the altitude of 570 meters on the ridge of the Upper Trinity. This city is the seat of the former Kézdiszék. Numerous archaeological finds were published here.

XIV. In the 16th century it was a market place, which was named in the charts as Torjavása. Sigismund of Luxembourg elevated him to the status of a city fair, and thus developed relatively quickly due to his craft and favorable geographical location. The Transylvanian princes helped his craft industry and trade on a guild basis with letters of privilege. The city's products were aimed at Moldavian markets.
The city was devastated by earthquakes in 1802 and 1812, later by famine and cholera, and in 1834 by a major fire. In 1848-49, this city became the most important center for the freedom struggle and the Trustees' self-defense, cannon and war material production.
The newspaper history of the city is very rich, and the Székely Hírmondó appeared here, in the printing house donated by Bem. The building in which the printing press operated was declared a monument.

The town's curiosity of general interest is the courtyard layout.
The first settlers purchased densely adjacent plots, all of which began in the middle of what used to be a marketplace. At the fairgrounds, their products were displayed on the main square overlooking the main square. So they could expand with their buildings only to the rear, on either side of the narrow plots, with a courtyard "walkway" in the middle. This is how the characteristic courtyards developed. Today the city has 73 such alley-like courtyards.

In 1971, in the park on the main square, the full-figured statue of Áron Gábor, the cannon maker, was placed.

In the old part of town called Kanta is the Baroque Roman Catholic Trinity Church. The monastery of minority monks is connected to the church.
On the opposite side is the building of the Theoretical Lyceum, which was the largest educational institution of the Trinity, under the name of Moses the Great.

Close to the Reformed church, at the entrance of Szacsvai József Street is the so-called. Túróczi House, on whose plot Áron Gábor and Moses Túróczi poured cannons from the bells of the church.
At the corner of the Old Railway Street is an important monument of the town, the former Szekler Military Colossus in the classicist style.
